SEPTEMBER BABY BOAS BORN 9/29/24!!!
Athena gave birth today, September 29th, to 23 live babies! All are active and good-sized!
Athena is doing great, no issues! We are thrilled and relieved. It’s an amazing process one never tires of witnessing. The babies often actively wiggle out of mom and then stretch their neck and raise their head like little dinosaurs breaking the sac and off they go! It’s about as cute as can be!
Note to the two that were stillborn ☹
We have a list of people who have been asked to be notified of the birthing. You all should have received the announcement email. If not, please update your contact information with us. We used that which we were given months ago.
This year we will be accepting deposits on the basis of first-come-first-served. Your deposit of $150.00 to hold your place in line is refundable if you end up not purchasing a boa from us. We will do our best to accommodate requests for one sex over the other, but please realize that some customers will be ready to purchase either sex and we won’t be sexing them right away. We’ll do our best to accommodate everyone wanting a baby DRMB.
For those not familiar with how things proceed: The babies will begin to take food ( f/t mouse or rat ) somewhere within the next month. As each is determined to be eating reliably, it will be photographed and made available for purchase. If large enough for safe probing (sexing), we will do so. We will first offer the baby to those on our deposit list ( deposit-customers ) before offering it for sale on our website and Morph Market. If you would like to become a deposit-customer, please send us your email address to which we can send an invoice for the deposit. Time of receipt of deposit will determine your place in line for being offered available boa babies. The deposit amount required to become a deposit-customer is $150. This deposit is refundable if you end up not purchasing a boa baby.
In order to try to be fair to everyone waiting, this year we are trying something new. We will require from our deposit-customers a cell phone # that receives text messages. As soon as your turn comes up, we will text you that we have sent you an email with photographs of the available baby and all information about coloring, personality, price, etc. You will have six hours from the time of texting you to make your decision if you want this particular baby or if you want to pass and wait for the next one. If we do not hear back from you with a decision by the 6th hour, we will assume you have passed on it, and will offer it to the next deposit-customer in line. We’ve tried other methods with our deposit-customers and it had become too bogged down and unfair to those next in line waiting. You will have those 6 hours to ask questions, etc. We will make sure we are available to you.
Payment in full is required at the time of choosing unless previous arrangements have been made for a Payment Plan Contract. Your deposit to hold your place in line/be a deposit-customer will be used as your nonrefundable deposit at the time of choosing if you are entering into a PPC. Those ready to purchase immediately will be invoiced for the balance due plus shipping. The invoice must be paid within 6 hours otherwise we will assume you have changed your mind and are passing on that particular baby. Please be sure to check your spam folder! We apologize for all the complexity but the other methods we have tried with deposit-customers were anything but fair to all and bump-free! 😊
As in other years, we will price the babies according to color and contrast. There are details provided through this link.
For those unfamiliar with Mt Pleasant Herps DRMB babies, ALL babies sold are absolutely accustomed to be handled! It’s just part of their babyhood here at MPH.
As always, if you have any questions about something we have not covered please feel free to ask! We can be reached through the website contact form or via [email protected]
We will be posting photos of our 2021 & 2022 AthDar hold-backs very soon….promise!
For those of you waiting for babies from Ursa, she has not given birth yet. It could be, should be, any day now, or in a month or so. 😊
Thank you for taking the time to read this!
